What does the NEW Fraxel DUAL® laser at Perfect Body Laser do?

How does the NEW, FRAXEL DUAL laser work?

Fraxel® treatment employs unique fractional technology to address damaged skin through microscopic laser columns that dive deep into the skin. The laser focuses on treating only a small portion of tissue at once, preserving the surrounding areas, which accelerates healing. This process encourages your body’s natural healing mechanisms to replenish old and damaged cells with fresh, radiant skin.

How long is the treatment?

Depending on the size, location, the area to be treated, Fraxel can take as little as 20 minutes. However, we ask that you reserve at least 2 hours for your appointment. Please arrive early to allow for adequate skin preparation when applicable.  The session usually takes 15 to 45 minutes for a full face, depending on individual client factors. 

How many treatments will I need and how will they be spaced?

The number of sessions you will need depends on your goals and desired outcomes as well as your lifestyle. We will work with you to weigh the aggressiveness of treatment with the downtime associated. Typically, clients receive their desired outcomes in 3 to 6 sessions.

After one session, you’ll notice a difference, but clinical studies suggest that, on average, an effective regimen consists of 3 to 5 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart. Depending on your condition and schedule, we may opt to space sessions further apart. Results are immediate and progressive, with optimal improvement typically visible within 6 months.

Who can be treated with the FRAXEL DUAL laser?

Fraxel® lasers are suitable for individuals of all ages and skin tones. Fraxel® treatment effectively addresses sensitive areas such as the neck, chest, and hands.

What kind of results can I expect?

Your skin will feel softer, look brighter, and show a more even tone. Other treatment benefits may include smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin, improved tone and texture, the erasing of unwanted brown spots, and reduced fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

When do the results appear, and how long do they last?

The treatment’s results are immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter, and show a more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal. Depending on your age and skin condition, the results can last for years.

Does FRAXEL DUAL hurt?

Most patients describe an increased sensation of heat during the treatment. The topical anesthesia minimizes discomfort, and cold air is applied to the treatment area during the session. After the session, most clients feel like they have a sunburn, which usually diminishes in 1 to 3 hours.

What should I expect after having the FRAXEL DUAL treatment?

During the first 24 hours after treatment, your skin may feel as though it has been sunburned and appear pink or red. You can wear makeup to reduce this appearance. Depending on the depth of treatment, your skin may bronze and peel over the next few days or two.

What side effects can I expect after the treatment and how long will they last?

Swelling and redness are the most common side effects of Fraxel DUAL treatment. Any swelling is usually minimal and subsides within a day or two, while any redness typically fades within a few days. Other temporary side effects may include minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking, andrance of the skin. There is a limited risk of infection, hyperpigmentation, or scarring. The intensity and duration of side effects depend on the aggressiveness of the treatment and your specific healing characteristics. Fraxel treatment can be tailored to your desired outcome. We will work with you to determine the best option to suit your needs lifestyle.
