IPL describes the use of intense pulses of non-coherent light distributed over a range of wavelengths from 500 nm to 1200 nm to remove hair and for other purposes.  Laser hair removal is a related but distinct technique; the primary difference is that laser treatment uses laser-generated coherent and monochromatic light.

IPL also stimulates collagen formation in your skin!

The face, neck, chest, and hands are the most frequently treated areas. Typically, a series of treatments is advised. You will notice gradual improvements customized to your condition and skin type, leading to exceptional cosmetic outcomes!

What can I expect during an IPL treatment?

During the IPL treatment at Perfect Body Laser, you’ll wear special ‘eyewear’ that protects your eyes from the light beam of the laser. First, the treatment area will be prepared for the laser by spreading an anesthetic cream over the face or area to be treated.  During the IPL treatment, the laser light is guided over the treatment areas with a small applicator. As the applicator is moved over your skin, the laser sends a pulsed beam of light through your skin. A treatment usually takes up to 30 minutes.

Does IPL treatment hurt?

Some Perfect Body Laser clients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described as the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. This mild discomfort resolves in a few seconds.

How many IPL treatment sessions will I need?

Several treatments may be necessary to fully remove skin blemishes or spider veins.

What can I expect after an IPL treatment?

If you experience discomfort after your treatment, you may use a cool compress or gel pack if the treated area has any redness or swelling. Any discomfort should resolve within a few hours.
